Apparently this morning Asda have cut the price of fuel at their pumps.
Today the price of petrol and diesel went up by 2p, thanks to our Government. They say the rise is essential to support the public finances.
Today Asda has lowered its petrol prices to 90.9p which will no doubt lead the other supermarkets to do the same. This is the lowest petrol has cost since April 2007!
When petrol was ridiculously priced over 120p per litre and diesel seemed like it was gonna steam over 200p per litre at one point I did wonder when the end would come! Thank god the price of oil has nearly halved since we saw record high prices at the pumps.
The AA is anticipating a 4p drop for petrol prices and a 6p drop for diesel prices in coming weeks. This is due to oil dropping back below the $100 a barrel mark.

The supermarket price war on fuel continues! Today Asda has cut petrol and diesel prices by 2p and 4p. Unleaded petrol has fallen to 111.9p per litre and diesel has dropped to 124.9p per litre.
The scare of a shortage of fuel after the walkout at Grangemouth oil refinery has sent prices even higher. A forecourt reported on BBC news that its sales where up 15% due to people panic buying. The price of petrol is getting beyond peoples means and doesn’t look set to drop below £1.00 ever again! [...]
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) have released a report saying that rising fuel costs are to blame for inflation running at its highest level since June last year. Average petrol prices rose by 1.3p in January 2008 to 103.9p per litre, compared with a fall of 0.8p in January 2007. You can read more about inflation on [...]
